Adams Musical Instruments | Alpha Z Frame
Following its US debut during the PASIC, the World’s Premier Drum & Percussion Festival, the new Alpha Z Frame made its European lauch during the Adams International Percussion Festival. Designed by KesselsGranger DesignWorks for Adams signature marimba artist Nancy Zeltsman, the Z Frame integrates the instrument’s support section with the flowing rail and resonator design for a cohesive and complete look. The design also offers great stability. The characteristic Z frame (which coincidentally matches the artist’s surname) is made from a single casting of aluminium, whereas the wing shaped wheel supports are made from solid oak. Nancy Zeltsman, Chair of Percussion / Marimba at the Boston Conservatory at Berklee, says “The most important thing to me is creative inspiration, and I’m feeling it with the Adams marimba, and the sleek modern design of the Alpha Z!”
